The 'Last 5 Miles'

I ran the final 5 miles of my '1000 Mile Challenge' at Macclesfield Leisure Centre Running Track with friends, family & sponsors (with partners and children) on 25th January 2004.

About 100 people turned out on a cold but sunny January afternoon to watch & take part. It was a great afternoon and was a super way to end my '1000 Mile Challenge'. A number of people ran the 20 laps with me and others joined in part way round - it was good to see so many runners at the finishing line.

Cancer Research UK were at the event and spoke about how the money that has been raised will be used - I really feel so proud that the '1000 Mile Challenge' has gained so much interest and will have raised so much money for Cancer Research UK. Click here to see where the money will go.

I want to say a massive 'thank you' to all the people who did so many jobs to make it a success - the whole event 'ran' like clockwork.
